Mexico Beach was hit hard by Hurricane Michael in 2015; many houses have been restored, but skeletal structures also remain.

Sopchoppy

Population (2016): 422

The tiny town of Sopchoppy near the Gulf of Mexico still shows signs of destruction from Hurricane Michael in 2016, though I suspect that’s not the whole story.

Abandoned gas station—destroyed by Hurricane Michael?

Blown-out windows frame the collapsed roof and opportunistic weeds.

What’s the story behind this abandoned house? The roof looks intact, so probably not a hurricane victim. But no “Private Property” or “Keep Out” signs. Definitely a story here.

Stopped by this sylvan scene on the brink of Hurricane Elsa. The residents were not impressed.
